Absence

Hey all, sorry about my lack of activity over this past week/weekend. I have been on the IRC throughout the week, but was otherwise occupied over the weekend.

Progress is slow, I'm trying to implement multiple layers into the tile engine, and it's not working very well.

In laymen's terms:
I'm trying to make it so I can have terrain such as grass, sand, snow etc, but have things such as houses and buildings layered over them, almost like having 2 maps on top of each other.

After I've finished this, I will be able to start working on adding everything else. Here's a little list of things I need to add, in the order I'll probably add them:

Tile layering > Player > Movement > NPCs > Monsters > Combat > GUI > Shops > Spells/Abilities > Quests > {All the other stuff}

  1. I've been actively following your blog and I was curious if you could teach me a bit C-sharp? I've recently just went into it and I found out it's pretty similar to Java, which I consider myself an intermediate in. Thanks! :)

    P.S. My name isn't John Smith :P

    1. If I can find the time between working, developing FR and developing Unatyx (A tower defence game) I'd be happy to teach you what I know.
      Email me and we'll sort something out

  2. Hey, i jjust saw your blog today and i fully support and think the idea is ingenious! However if i may make a suggestion could you make a facebook page and twitter? Maybe im the only one here but that would be easier to follow as well as see how many fellow FRer's there will be at launch day. Thanks!

    1. However I will still make a facebook page, and I have a twitter, I'll make a post here about social media and such tomorrow. As, while I may have dropped FR, I still have other big projects planned which I'm sure y'all will be interested in.

  3. I'm afraid you're a bit late, if you read one of my newer posts "Bad News" I dropped the FR project, I then took it up again a few days ago, only to find another group had already started and were making great progress http://folegacy.boards.net
